ORIGIN & PRODUCTION

According to research, this fruit’s wild ancestor originated in the Indo-Burmese region or China. Introduced to Europe, the lemon was known as the "Assyrian apple" or "Median apple”. It was used as a remedy against fever.

DESCRIPTION & APPEARANCE 

On average, lemons weigh between 120 and 150 grams. With regard to colour, they can take on several shades, varying from bright yellow to golden yellow.

& PREPARATION

Lemons have long been respected and prized for their numerous beneficial properties.
They have been used as a remedy for headaches, to dissolve kidney stones, and even to whet the appetite.   

This fruit is also appreciated for its juicy flesh and acidity. Lemons are very low in calories.

They are bursting with vitamin C and boast a wide range of beneficial properties. Lemons have long been associated with festive occasions and appreciated by gourmets, serving as a perfect accompaniment for fish or shellfish, and an excellent flavouring agent. They are also frequently used in cocktails. 

A teaspoon of lemon juice provides many of our daily requirements in terms of micronutrients.
